Telora washing machine safe cups

Telora Engineering Bureau faced a problem when the designs of their previously made mugs faded after the first wash. Such quality problems are not uncommon, and customers often turn to us for solutions.

The reason probably lay in the choice of unsuitable printing technique. Most likely, these mugs were printed with sublimation dye, which does not tolerate washing well. It was surprising that the design faded after just one wash. Achieving long-lasting printing is not always easy, as materials can vary and production processes can have unforeseen effects. To ensure quality, we make test prints and wash cups in case of doubt.

As a sustainable company, we recommended engraving instead of color printing to our customers. Engraving on black mugs would create an elegant matte white finish. The mug manufacturer assured us that their cups were engravable, but during production we discovered that engraving them at a high level was not feasible. Therefore, we decided to use color printing with inks that can withstand regular washing. Although the client’s logo contains several colors, we decided to use only white for the logo, resulting in a design very similar to the engraving. In addition, the monochromatic approach reduced the size of the footprint and gave the mugs a minimalist and calm look.

We used pad printing, a technique that ensures that the design can withstand repeated washing. The customer recently confirmed that the print now holds up perfectly and the mugs are in daily use at Telora Inseneribüroo.
